knee surgery.

On Monday January 19th I have my 3rd knee surgery. You would think I would get better at this. Actually I have, it has been 20 years since my last knee surgery and I am much better at staying down. I t is very hard for me to be down. I have to much energy to sit still. I have been reading, sleeping and playing on facebook though. It also helps that if I am up on it for too long it hurts. So all in all I give myself a B+. My mom took the kids on Monday. Jason stayed home Monday and Tuesday, and my mom-in-law came down Weds and Thurs. Our home teachers the Pricers, even brought in dinner Monday. Without all of this help I would definitely have been doomed. Thanks everyone!!

Sand Angels

Karter and Chase gave up on having a "white Christmas". While playing at Madono beach in Cabo they created sand angels in honor of Christmas Day.

Grandpa HIll

Well it's official Grandpa Hill is the bionic man. He has 2 new knee's. Mom and I picked him up from Hoag hospital yesterday and he is doing great. He has waited a long time to get his replacements. Apparently he wore the others out. At 87 his is out working us all. He and Grandma are staying with Mom and David until he is fully recovered. I think he is staying there to have access to the Wii.

CHiP's

Christy is especially grateful to the Officer Smith of the CHP.Officer Smith warned me against driving to fast (70+ when he saw me), talking on a cel phone (blue tooth was not working and in my purse), and driving in the carpool lane ( all the kids were in school honestly how often am I alone). Officer Smith will always have a special place in my heart when I write the check to the auto insurance. Thanks Officer Smith:)

Christy

If you have read this whole blog you are probably tired of hearing from me. However since I am the worlds worst journal keeper I am hoping to kill 2 bird with 1 stone. I am currently in the "Mini-van" stage of Motherhood. It seems like no matter how hard I try I can't get out of the minivan. Gymnastics, soccer, softball, swimming, back to the school to pick up whatever book they forgot and then off to another activity. When the kids were little I used to pray to get out of the house now I pray to get to stay in it. I also pray for the house cleaning fairy's ( so far no luck). I can't figure out if we are never home who make all the mess. One of the mysteries of life I guess. As far as this blog goes I am going to fill it with lots of gory detail that I hope to remember when I am older. Fell free to check it out at anytime and since I have never met a secret you can share in our daily lives. Please remember I usually live in the moment. So if I threaten bodily harm to a child, by the time you can call the cops I'm over it or they are planted. J/K
This is a picture in Cabo on Christmas Eve. We attended a pinyata party with some of our local friends. The second is Christmas morning: no hair, no makeup. See I promised I would keep it real. Scary!

Jason Sr.

This is a picture of Jason after a long night on patrol. Just kidding. He is the homeless cop now so you can never tell what might appear on the camera. He still loves being a policeman. Everyday he comes home to the kids asking how many bad guys did you catch today Dad? I've include some pic's of when Jason talked with JJ's class and the day he found a new pet. He is great at his job but I'm always happiest when he is home hanging out with me. Luckily he enjoys "handyman" work and with this old house he is always got a project going (currently he is remodeling a bathroom and building a dog run). We think he's the world's best Dad to but we might be biased.

Jason Jr.

At 5 years old Jason Jr. is all boy. I was scared with 3 older sisters he would be into ballet or something. I didn't need to worry he's full of testosterone. He loves sticks, swords, and anything he can poke at his sisters. J.J. started kindergarten this year and doesn't like to come back to class after recess. He is a fish in the water and has had enough of t-ball so it on to soccer in the spring. He's superman, spiderman or tongue man ( no idea where that came from). Thanks to the movie Sky High he thinks his powers just haven't arrived yet.

Chase

Chase Delaney is 8 years old. She was baptized last November and is our baby girl. Chase is easy to explain because she eats, sleeps and tumbles. Somewhere she fits in 3rd grade and homework. Chase trains with Gymnastics Pacifica and spends about 15 hours a week in the gym. This pic was taken in Cabo. She and her Dad perfected this stunt but I couldn't seem to get a decent pic of it.

Karter

Karter J. is 9 at this time of publishing. She is a math whiz and as funny as they come. Her sense of humor is a marvel to her mom who was accused of being born without a funny bone. She loves softball and is proud of her nickname "Baby Ruth". She's in the 4th grade and wishes they would pass a law against homework.

Kira

Kira Nichole is 11 years old and can't wait to be 12. She swims 6 days a week on CCAQ's team. Reads anything she can find, and is in the 6th grade. Kira or Nickel ( some warped version of Nichole we can up with) has a heart of gold and loves to babysit anyone but her brother and sisters. She is definitely my right hand (when she chooses to be). This is a pic of her with her new sassy, short , hair cut.

91 Freeway

Our little Chase stepped on a piece of glass. On the way home from the surgery center ( they had to cut it out) the car on the freeway ahead of us kicked up this pipe. Jason was driving and I was in the passenger seat. We were in his new commuter car (Corolla) and the came to rest about 5 inches from my head. Thank goodness for guardian angels!

SURPRISE

The Farris family has finally created a blog. Hopefully I will stick to it long enough to journal our families adventures.  People are constantly telling me to write a book about the situations these fabulous kids get me into. For those of you who aren't familiar with our kids they have Christy's outgoing personality and energy along with Jason's curiosity. Of course we think they are brilliant and it's a deadly combination. Its amazing the fun they create. So sit back and be entertained as we start this new adventure.
